Maxine F. Feiler
February 22nd, 1926 - August 7th, 2013
Maxine Feiler passed away peacefully on August 7, 2013. Born Maxine Frances Wurtz on February 22, 1926 to Carl and Marian (nee O'Connell) Wurtz, she loved working outside with her father on the family's farm near Elmwood, WI. She attended a one-room, eight-grade schoolhouse, then Elmwood High School from 1939-1943. Maxine attended college, starting at UW-River Falls in 1943, and graduating from UW-Stout in 1948. She taught Home Economics at Tomah and River Falls High Schools from 1948-1950, then at Elmwood High School from 1950-1953 after marrying Arnold Feiler in 1950. In 1953, Arnold and Maxine moved to Hammond, WI where they built a house together with their own hands, and had 4 children. Thereafter in Cudahy, WI from 1964 - 2009, Maxine earned her Master's degree from UW-Milwaukee, taught at and retired from South Milwaukee Jr. High, and was an active member of AHEA, WEA, and Nativity of the Lord Catholic Church. Maxine lived in Kenosha from 2009 - 2010, then Cedarburg from 2010 until her passing. Maxine defined her life by helping others. She was a significant volunteer at Ramsey Woods Residence, and at Cudahy/St. Francis Interfaith Older Adult Program. She took active roles in Nativity of the Lord parish's Resurrection Choir and Ladies Guild. She is survived by daughters, Leslie (David Poethke) Feiler and Terri (Jeffrey) Pascucci; sons, Steven (Laurie) Feiler and David (Julianne) Feiler; grandchildren, Ryan, Noah, Gianna, Joseph, Nina, Max, Samantha, Maria and Anna; great grandchildren, Iljana, Nadja, Rocco, Mia, Dominic, and Rome; sisters, Phyllis Most and Janice Olson, sister-in-law Carol Primm, plus many nieces, nephews, their spouses and children. Maxine is preceded by her parents; husband; mother- and father-in-law; Alvina (Paul ) Feiler; brother, Keith Wurtz; sisters-in-law, Flora Brown Wurtz, Toni Feiler, Margaret Feiler; brothers-in-law, Arthur Olson, Roger Most, Vernon Feiler, John Primm; niece MaryJo Debol; grand-nephew Brendan Primm and other relatives.
