Audrey A. Hanson

Audrey A. Hanson, of Waukesha, died on Monday, April 22, 2013 at home at the age of 81 years. Audrey was born on July 8, 1931 in Merrill, WI the daughter of Adolph and Agnes (Pophal) Waldburger. She married Dan on August 21, 1954 in Waukesha. They were longtime members of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She worked in the office for many doctors in Waukesha and ended her career of service in the medical field working for Southside Medical Clinic. Audrey was an active member of the Women's Circle at church, Sunday School teacher, Forever Forty Group, Holy Stuffers and a member of the Counting Team. Audrey was also very active as a mom serving as President of the PTA and Booster Club. She and Dan were a hardworking couple but enjoyed sports and were avid Badger, Packer and Brewer fans. Audrey was a great cook, and claimed this as her ministry. In their spare time, they also enjoyed trips to her sister-in-laws cottage near Iola where she enjoyed reading while Dan fished. Bowling, reading and casinos were amongst the hobbies she had but she was most passionate about her family. Audrey will be deeply missed by her husband, Daniel "Dan" of almost 59 years; her son Phil (Mary) Hanson of Waukesha; her granddaughters, Christie (Kevin) Eckdahl and Sarah Hanson; sister, Marlyn Giese of Sussex and sister-in-law, Edie Czarnyszka of Menomonee Falls; nieces, nephews other relatives and many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Donna; brother, Jerry (Doris); and brother-in-law, Charles. The visitation for Audrey will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 3:00 until the 6:00 p.m. memorial service at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St., Waukesha, WI 53186.
