Marion J. Addie
March 23rd, 1925 - January 27th, 2013
Of Waukesha, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the age of 87 years. She was born on March 23, 1925, the daughter of Charles and Frieda (nee Meissert) Howe. Marion married the love of her life, Willis "Bill" Dean Addie on June 25, 1949. She went to Rufus King High School and WI State Teachers College. She taught in the Milwaukee and Watertown School district for a time. Marion then stayed home to raise her family, but did return to teaching as a reading aide for first graders at Blair, Lawrence and Rose Glen Schools, retiring in 1985. In her early years she was a member of the Homemakers Group, a Cub Scout Pack Leader and truly enjoyed the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed gardening, and reading fiction stories. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Marion was a long time member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Marion will be sadly missed by her children, David Addie of Rowlett, TX and Susan "Sue" Bangle of Waukesha, WI; grandchildren, Jenny (Brian) Czarniak of Franklin, WI and Jon (Fiancé Jill Bogdanowicz and her daughter, Izzy) Bangle of Los Angeles, CA; great-grandchildren, Taylen and Chasen Czarniak; former son-in-law, Dr. Phillip Bangle; nephew, Dennis (Peggy) McEvoy; Marion's four-legged friend, Daisy; other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill who died on October 30, 2012; sister Edna (Leo) McEvoy, and brother Norman Howe. The visitation for Marion will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St. Waukesha, WI 53186. The Rev. Gary Liedtke will be officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the funeral service at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Luke's Lutheran church would be appreciated (see address above) or to the family. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Season's Hospice; Dr. Gwen Tanel and Dr. Russell Harland and their staff as this journey through the years was only possible with their compassionate care and empathy for Willis and Marion.
