Lila Mallman
May 31st, 1945 - January 29th, 2013
Of Waukesha, loving wife, mother, and child of God, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at the age of 67. She had an endless, loving commitment to all and was the embodiment of joy. Lila was born on May 31, 1945, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Clarence and Tillie (Blum) McConkey. She was Salutatorian of her graduating class from Lincoln High School. Lila then attended both WCTI and UW-Milwaukee where she received a degree to become a medical assistant. She was a longtime member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church where she often taught CCD classes and sang in the choir. Lila was also a member of River Glen Christian Church. She enjoyed playing dominoes at the senior center and participating in Wii Bowling at the library. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family and friends. Lila will be deeply missed by her husband, John, of 45 years; her sons, Brian (Mary) Mallman and Mark Mallman; grandchild, Calvin Mallman; sister, Sheila (the late Bill) Frey; as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Patrick McConkey. The visitation for Lila will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013, from 4:00 PM until the 7:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2400 W. State Hwy. 59, Waukesha, WI 53189. The Rev. Curt Frederick officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the NAMI Care Connection, 217 Wisconsin Ave. Suite #300, Waukesha, WI 53186.
