Andrew "Andy" G. Werlein
October 29th, 1985 - October 5th, 2012
Of Waukesha, went to be with his Lord on Friday, October 5, 2012 at the age of 26 years. Andy was born on October 29, 1985 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Gerard and Janice Werlein. He was a proud graduate of Waukesha West High School. Andy attended Western Wisconsin Technical College, La Crosse for woodworking and WCTC for training as a Firefighter. He worked for Bell Ambulance as an EMT in Milwaukee, volunteered as a Firefighter at the Sussex Fire Department, and was currently working at the Pewaukee Fire Station and Pewaukee Aurora Urgent Care. Andy was a "Big" fan of UNC and he loved watching March Madness Games. He lit up a room the moment he walked in with his humor and mischievous grin. Andy enjoyed his state sports teams, as well as being involved in various sports in high school. He gave speeches to various organizations discussing his experiences with depression and suicide attempts, and did everything possible to help those in need dealing with depression. Andy was instrumental in assisting to get a law passed through Congress involving Mental Health Issues, as well as being featured in 'USA Today,' and 'The Morning Blend' for his advocacy work. Andy enjoyed Packer, Brewer and Liverpool games, loved birds, Civil War and World War II History, running and having fun with family and friends. If you knew him or met him, he was an instant friend. Andy will be sadly missed by his loving parents; his siblings, Matthew Werlein and Natalie Werlein; his grandmothers, Jean Wischer and Therese (Jim) Duranso; and his four legged friends Muffin and Lily. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. Andy is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Paul Werlein and Jerome Wischer. The visitation for Andy will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until the 8:00 p.m. Vigil Service at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188. (Please arrive by 9:45 a.m.). The Reverend Curt Frederick will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
