James "Jim" Paul Hilden
July 26th, 1937 - October 15th, 2012
James "Jim" Paul Hilden of Waukesha, died on Monday, October 15, 2012 at home at the age of 75 years. He was born on July 26, 1937 in Laurium, MI the son of Alex and Ann (Lilja) Hilden. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church and served as a former alderman, district #4 for the City of Waukesha for six years. Jim retired from General Electric in 1996 after 32 years of service. Jim will be remembered as an avid golfer. Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, Shirley of 30 years, his children, Kelly (Dan) Poplawski of Lake Mills, Penny (Jason) Shelander of Port Washington and Peggy (Aaron) Auger of Virginia Beach, VA; six grandchildren; his brothers, George (Peggy) of Plymouth, MI and Thomas (Margaret) of Pewaukee; his sisters, Marian Gould of OK and Joyce (Charles "Chuck") Grapentine of Madison; his extended family, Ruth and Michael and Sarah Benben of Racine, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Bob and William and his sisters, Barbara and Kathy. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Berman and the Oncology nursing staff at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and a special thank you to anyone that donates blood since Jim was a regular recipient of everyone's kindness over the past year. The visitation for Jim will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a second visitation for Jim on Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 11:30 a.m. until the 12:30 p.m. funeral service at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 1052 White Rock Ave. Waukesha, WI 53186. The Rev. Scott Oelhafen officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Waukesha. Memorials are appreciated to The Blood Center of WI, 638 North 18th St., Milwaukee, WI 53233 or Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church (see address above).
