Glen R. Nelson Of Waukesha, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at The Virginia Health & Rehabilitation Center in Waukesha at the age of 63 years. He was born December 8, 1947 in Oak Park, IL to Carl and Jane (Anderson) Nelson. Glen graduated from the University of WI - Madison in 1971. He was an accountant for several firms in southeastern Wisconsin from 1971 to 1988. Glen moved to Rogers, Arkansas in 1989 from Waukesha, WI. In 1999 he retired from the Wal-Mart Corporation after 10 years of service. Glen was an avid golfer and spent most of his time on the courses around Rogers. He returned to Waukesha, WI in June of 2009 to be closer to his children. Glen's greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Glen is survived by his son, Joel R. Nelson of Waukesha, WI; his daughter, Amy M. (David) Mulqueen, of Waukesha, WI; his former spouse, and friend, Paula Nelson of Waukesha, WI; brother, Dr. Dale Nelson of Spokane, WA; nieces, Heidi (Kyle) Downey of Spokane, WA and Alecia (Charleston) Grimes of Seattle, WA; three nephews, Zachary (Bethany) Nelson of San Francisco, CA, Ira (Marina) Nelson of Beaverton, OR and Eli Nelson of Idaho. He is further survived by Samantha & Sabrina Downey, Cassius and Alexis Grimes, Austin and Preston Nelson, and Sadie Nelson. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Jane Nelson. Cremation will be by Cesarz, Charapata & Zinneker Funeral Home. A private service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in Glen's name are appreciated to the ALS Association of Wisconsin, 3333 North Mayfair Road, Suite 213Wauwatosa, WI 53222. ?A special thank you to all who brought joy to Glen during his 19 month journey with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease): The Virginia Health & Rehabilitation Center, Odyssey Hospice and the ALS Association of Wisconsin.
