Mildred Tardif of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the age of 87 years. She was born in Waukesha, WI, the daughter of William and Evelyn Arndt. Millie married Walter Tardif on December 8, 1951. She worked as a bookkeeper most of her life and with her husband at C. Tardif & Son Excavating and Grading, continuing with the business after his passing. Millie was a 1945 graduate of Waukesha High School and had been active on the class reunion committee. Millie has been a longtime member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church. Millie loved to travel and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and attending their many activities. Millie will be sadly missed by her children, Thomas (Pat Marsh) Tardif and Diane (Randall) Canham; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Finn, Tracy (Ryan) Gardner, Robert Canham and Olivia Canham; great-grandchildren, Cody Gardner, Kayla Gardner and Jackson Finn; and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter, brothers, Clarence and Donald Arndt; and her in-laws, Conrad and Mae Tardif. A visitation for Millie will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 from 9:00 am until the time of the 10:30 am Funeral Service at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 111 E. Main St., Waukesha, WI 53186. The Rev. Fr. David Simmons will be officiating. The burial will be private at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Millie's name to St. Matthias Episcopal Church (see address above) would be appreciated.
