Arthur J. "Bud" Esser Jr. of Waukesha passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the age of 82 years. He was born in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Arthur J. Sr. and Lorraine Esser. Bud worked as a supervisor at Cooper Power Systems for over 21 years and after at Waukesha Memorial Hospital in maintenance for 20 years. He was a proud United States Army Veteran. Arthur married Carole Joers on February 14, 1976. Bud was an avid fisherman and karaoke singer. He enjoyed cutting his acre of land with a walk behind mower, cribbage, uecker, sheepshead and bowling. Most of all he loved the big family get together's and the littlest great-grandkids. Bud or "Grandpa Grumps" will be sadly missed by his wife, Carole of 40 years; children, Jacqueline Esser of Pewaukee, Sherri Esser of Stone Bank, Sonya (Amy Ardvidson) Esser of Wauwatosa, Jean (Bill) Humphrey of Oconomowoc, Jacquelyn (Dave) Penning of Mukwonago and James Joers of Waukesha; grandchildren, Christopher Nitz, Chad (Katie) Cowdy, Ryan Pike, Brent Wollenzien, Joshua Penning, A.J., Tracey (Michael) Maszka and Cody Penning; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Cynthia Esser; grandson, Thomas Pike II; sisters, Joan Brown (nee Esser), Joyce Stoecker (nee Esser) and Susan Buendia (nee Esser). In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38148-0142 appreciated. A gathering will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the 4:00 p.m. Memorial Service at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha, WI 53188.
