Doville "Dewey" J. Schirripa, of Waukesha, passed away on Saturday, October 08, 2016 surrounded by his family at the age of 92. He was born on July 8, 1924, the son of Pasquale and Gaitano Schirripa. Dewey married the love of his life, Margaret on February 25, 1946. He was a talented mason for Lauterbach Construction, working on many specialty jobs for the court house, St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, many churches and schools throughout Waukesha and was one of the oldest members of the Bricklayer Union. Dewey was a member of the Waukesha Elks Club Lodge #400 and the Eagles Club, an avid Packer fan, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and golfing, making two hole-in-ones. He also was a gifted artist who loved to paint and draw. Dewey had a wonderful sense of humor and would share it with others through many practical jokes. Most of all, Dewey loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Dewey will be deeply missed by his wife of 70 years, Margaret; children, David (Nancy) Schirripa, Linda (William) Hausser, Frank Schirripa, Debbie (Greg) Stangel, Sandra (Robert) Stowasser; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by sisters, Judy Dousold and Nora Murphy, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Frank and Armondo. The visitation for Dewey will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 822 N East Ave. Waukesha, WI 53186. The Rev. Javier Bustos will be officiating. Entombment will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church (see address above) are appreciated. The family would like to thank Mark Schirripa for his special care of Dewey.
