Hugh P. Duval
August 24th, 1923 - January 25th, 2021
On Monday, January 25, 2021, Hugh Powhatan Duval, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at age 97. Hugh was born on August 24, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri to Hugh P and Ida Althea (Hayes) Duval. He was in the Army Air Force from February 2, 1943 to September 1945. He was stationed in Italy after training at Fairmont Army Airfield in Fillmore County, Nebraska. Hugh worked for the George A Lowe Company in Ogden, Utah and left to relocate to Denver, Colorado to start his own business as a manufacturers representative. He ran this successful business until his retirement in 1986. Hugh loved to travel, even after traveling from Montana to Arizona and all states in between for his business. Mary and Hugh traveled to California and Arizona, finally settling in Arizona for a while before deciding to come back home to Denver. He played baseball and enjoyed being with his friends. He loved to fish and play a little golf, be outdoors and traveling through scenic Colorado. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers family at the Lake of the Ozarks. Hugh was preceded in death by his father Hugh Sr and his mother Ida, his brother Charles W Duval and son Terry E Duval. He was also preceded in death by his wife Edna Tobin Duval and his second wife Mary Joesting Duval. He is survived by his daughter Patricia Koenig, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren 1 great great grandchild, 5 nephews and 1 niece. A private service with full military honors will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
