Floyd "Peter" F. Bullock

Floyd F. “Peter” Bullock Jr. died peacefully on Sunday June 9, 2024 after a brief hospitalization.  Born in Gouverneur, NY.  Peter was predeceased by his parents Floyd F. “Pete” Sr. and Isabel (Janack) Bullock, sister Marlys Proctor and his son Daniel Bullock.  He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Carol, brother Brent (Pat) Bullock and sister Cheryl Periard, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Peter grew up in Star Lake, NY and graduated from Clifton-Fine High School.  Peter had a love of the outdoors; he enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting in the Adirondacks and spent many wonderful summers on Cranberry Lake.  After high school Peter enlisted in the United States Air Force and was trained as a Public Affairs Specialist.  Peter was stationed at Brooks Air Force Base, Texas where he published the base newspaper.  Upon returning to Central New York, he completed his studies at Onondaga Community College and graduated from SUNY Binghamton with a BS in Accounting.  While studying at Binghamton, Peter developed many friendships with fellow veterans that continue to the present.  Following graduation Peter worked briefly for a local accounting firm, and then became the Director of Financial Affairs at Crouse Hospital’s School of Nursing, where he worked for 36 years until his retirement in 2014.   At the School of Nursing, Peter helped countless students and parents navigate the complexities of student loans and financial aid forms.

Upon retirement, he and his wife Carol pursued their love of boating in the waters of the St. Lawrence.

Peter always knew who he was.  He will be remembered for his wit, good humor and a mischievous twinkle in his eye.  All those who knew him will not forget his joke of the week.  He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 18 from 4 to 7 pm at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 2584 Field Lane, LaFayette, NY 13084.  Services will be Wednesday, June 19 at 10 am at the Church of the Nativity – St. Joseph’s, 6104 Cherry Valley Turnpike, LaFayette, NY. Burial will follow at the LaFayette Rural Cemetery.
