Iris Esther Irizarry

Mrs. Iris Esther Irizarry, age 84, a resident of Winter Haven, Florida passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. Mrs. Irizarry was born May 8, 1940 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Angel and Isabel (Aponte Pizarro) Irizarry. Iris was a resident of Winter Haven since 2007 coming from Bronx, New York, where she was raised and graduated from Nursing School in New York. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter – Elizabeth LaPorte; 2 brothers – Pete & Ruben and sister – Virginia. Iris is survived by her loving family, son – Fernando Nieves; daughter – Mary (Virginio Torres) Nieves; 2 sisters – America Caquias and Helen Class; 8 grandchildren – Michael, Lynette, Daryisabel, Robert, Ricky, Minette, Cecil & Angel and 14 great grandchildren – Sebastian, Alyssa, Rafferty, Arden, Landon, Layla, Ivan, Gabriel, Natalie, Joseph, Emily, Cecilia, Michael & Christina. Graveside services will be held 10am Friday, June 28th at Auburndale Memorial Park, 1889 West Derby Avenue.
