Joseph Arnold Saavedra
July 19th, 1952 - June 1st, 2024
Joseph Arnold Saavedra, age 71, died peacefully on June 1, 2024. Joe was the eldest of 5 children born to Joseph and Belia Saavedra in Tucson, Arizona, on July 19, 1952. Joe grew up in Nogales, Arizona, with siblings Glenn, Louis (Christine), Cindy (Luis), and Karen (Javier). Predeceased by his father Joseph Saavedra Jr. Joe graduated from Nogales High School in 1970 and Northern Arizona University in 1976, with a Degree in Communications.
Joe met his wife Sandy Genung in Flagstaff and married on June 19, 1976, for 47 years. They lived and worked in Tucson until he accepted a job and moved the family to Alpharetta, Georgia in 1997. Wanting to be closer to family they moved back to Tucson in 2004 and spent the remainder of his life together in Oro Valley. They have two beautiful sons, Adam and his wife Diana, and Jared. They have 5 grandchildren, October, Cambria, Titus, Brenden, and Shane.
Joe had a love for photography. He captured many years of family trips, events, beautiful Arizona sunsets, and many of life’s biggest moments. His contagious smile, laughter, and warm spirit will forever be missed. Joe found comfort and faith in Jesus Christ. His family, lifelong friends, and community will deeply miss Joe's unconditional love and passionate energy for life.
