Barbara Jane Revels

Revels, Barbara Jane, 92 of St. Petersburg, passed away peacefully on May 2,2024 surrounded by her three daughters. Barbara was born on July 17, 1931 in Danville, PA., and moved to St. Petersburg at the age of nine as her parents, Elva and Earl lkeler, felt the warm weather would help in her recovery from rheumatic fever. 

After attending local schools, she graduated from St. Petersburg High School in 1949. After graduation, she married the love of her life, William David. Together they built a wonderful life celebrating 68 years of marriage, until William's death in 2018. 

Barbara was involved in Women's Service League raising money for countless organizations in the Tampa Bay Area. In addition to her family, one thing near and dear to her heart were animals. Her household was a menagerie of various pets ranging from cats and dogs to turtles and birds. She could never turn a stray away and always donated and supported animal organizations. 

Her lively spirit endeared her to all that knew her and led to many lifelong friendships. Barbara, Mom, Nana, Great Nana was a remarkable woman who was filled with boundless love, wisdom, and strength for her family. 

Survivors include daughters, Diane Stewart (Rob), Deborah Reischmann (Mike) and Alice Pfeifer (Rob); 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great - great grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, George lkeler (Kay) and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 19th, 2024 at 10:30am at Christ United Methodist Church, 467 1st Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
