With great sadness the daughter of Deborah Kay Robinson announces her peaceful passing on Saturday June 15, 2024 at the age of 70.
Debbie was born May 9, 1954 in Woodbury, Tennessee to Lowry Neal and Betty Jean Robinson (Pelham). She was the oldest of four siblings and grew accustomed to moving around the country and overseas as the daughter of an Air Force Senior Master Sergeant. Debbie graduated from Stebbins High School in Dayton, Ohio in 1972 and proudly reminisced about her time as a varsity cheerleader there.
Debbie cared for her parents during extended illnesses and from that experience was inspired to earn a nursing certification. She dutifully served the community of Del Rio, Texas for almost two decades as a Nursing Assistant at Val Verde Regional Medical Center until her retirement in 2015.
Debbie considered home wherever her daughter Kimberly was and her role as a mother the most important of her life. Debbie’s unwavering devotion and love for Kimberly was embodied in all of her efforts and interactions, even until her last breath.
Debbie is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kimberly Robinson of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is survived by her brother Douglas and his wife Olga Robinson of Anchorage, Alaska, her brother Geoffrey and his wife Brenda Robinson of Okeechobee, Florida, and her sister Vickie Vargas of Springer, New Mexico. She is remembered fondly as a cousin and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Her loyal companion dog Cooper misses her every day.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to a memorial service at Shove Chapel (1010 N. Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903) on Saturday July 13th at 11:00 am. A joyful reception will follow at The Public House at the Alexander (3104 N. Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80907) at 12:30 pm.
Kimberly requests letters and notes with memories of her mother be sent to 6244 Maroon Mesa Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80918. She is making a book to memorialize loving comments, stories, and photos. Flowers are a lovely gesture and welcomed at the aforementioned address or direct to Bloom Bar and Co. for inclusion in the memorial service.
