**Obituary of Rich Romo** In loving memory of Rich Romo, who joined his ancestors on June 27, 2024, at the age of 52. Born in San Jose, California, on May 23, 1972, Rich found his final peace in Salinas, California—leaving behind a legacy of wit, humor, and a few stubborn video game high scores on his computer. Rich had an uncanny ability to brighten any room with his quick wit and hilarious one-liners. If laughter truly is the best medicine, those who knew him were in great health. His loyalty was unmatched, and he was always there for his loved ones, be it for a deep conversation or a helping hand. Rich was an incredibly curious soul, forever eager to learn, explore, and everyday phenomenon that piqued his interest. His honest and straightforward nature made him a dependable figure in the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. Rich leaves behind a devoted family, including his wife Adrienne (Montoya) Romo, his loving mother Deborah Ortega, his adoring grandmother Mary Ortega, his father Richard Romo, and, of course, his beloved cat Skully, who will have to find a new napping partner. Those wishing to pay their respects and share in the celebration of Rich's remarkable life are invited to join his friends and family on July 14th from 1-4 pm at (The Grange Hall) 17890 Moro Road, Salinas, CA, 93907. Please RSVP to ensure we can cater to all of Rich’s loved ones adequately. He would hate for anyone to go hungry. Though he left us far too soon, Rich Romo's spirit continues to live on in the laughter, loyalty, curiosity, and honest conversations he embedded in our hearts. We’ll miss him dearly but will carry his memory with us – one smile, one joke, one game level at a time.

We Entrusted Rich Romo's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
