Tad Mocaby
February 14th, 1966 - June 23rd, 2024
Tad Norman Mocaby, 58 died in his sleep on June 23, 2024. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle.
Funeral Services will be held at Valley Memorial Park and Funeral home on July 9th, 2024 at 11 am with graveside burial immediately following.
Tad was born in Renton Washington to Carol and Doug Mocaby. His Family moved back to Salem, OR when he was 4 years old. Tad lived in Salem until graduating from South Salem High School in 1984. After graduation, he joined the US Navy and served for six years. Tad served on the USS Constellation CV-64 when it was stationed in the Persian Gulf during the Gulf war. During his Navy service he received the following awards: Sea Service Deployment Ribbon [2nd Award]; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Meritorious Unit Commendation; 1st Good Conduct Medal. He was honorably discharged on January 13, 1991.
After leaving the Navy, he worked temporary jobs for a while. In 1993 he enrolled in the Chemeketa Community College Computers Electronics program. He graduated from the program in June 1995, with a 4.0 average. Upon graduation from Chemeketa, he went to work for Intel in Hillsboro, where he worked until his death. He had 29 years of service with Intel.
Tad married Loretta Hardy in February 1997. They had three great children together.
Tad will be greatly missed by his family; his wife Loretta, sons Jarod, Christian; and Daughter Angela; Sister Tracey (Dan); Niece, Maya; Nephew, Rayan. Tad was predeceased by both of his parents, Carol and Doug Mocaby.
Tad was well respected by his coworkers, neighbors, friends, and family. He helped anyone when there was the opportunity.
