Michael Bittner, 68, of Hammonton passed on July 1, 2024.

Michael is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 45 years, Linda, and his three children: Michael and wife Audrey, Shawn and wife Patricia, and Shannon and husband Samuel.

Best known as Pop Pop or “Pop”, Michael will be terribly missed by his grandchildren, Arianna, Michael, and Cristopher, and his little buddy Petey. He will also be missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law William Jr. and wife Maria, Stephen and wife Virginia, Daniel and wife Pauline, brother-in-law Allen, sister-in-law Beth Hall, and brother in law Donald Williams and wife Cathy.

Michael and Linda were the owners of the Colonial Cafe in West Deptford from 1985 until their retirement in 2020. The bar was a favorite gathering place for customers, family and friends. Those who visited knew they could always count on Mike for a hilarious story or joke.

Always a devoted husband, son, brother, father, grandfather and uncle, Mike was known for his sense of humor and universal friendliness. It was impossible to be in a bad mood in his company. He also loved his brightly colored vehicles, his various pets and being with his family at his vacation home in North Wildwood and later at his retirement home, poolside, in Hammonton.

Michael will be reunited with his parents William and Ida Bittner, parents-in-law Edgar and Betty Williams, and sister Linda Harrigan.

As per Mike’s request, no funeral or memorial services will be held. We encourage you to share your favorite stories of Mike with the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Michael’s name to the American Heart Association here (https://www.heart.org/en/get-involved/ways-to-give-aha?form=FUNQCSERKQD)or to American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX.

McGuinness Funeral Homes - Woodbury

We have served the Woodbury community since 1951, when our founder, James A. McGuinness, opened our first funeral home. He knew the importance of families having a trustworthy, local funeral home to help them memorialize their lost loved ones and navigate grief. Our beautiful funeral home in Woodbury was originally built in the late 1700s, and has since been rebuilt to honor its original charm and comfortable, warm feel. Once you walk through our doors, you become family....
