Roy Aasen, 59 years old, passed away on June 16th after a short-term battle with cancer. Roy was born in Palo Alto, California to parents Bjorn and Suzanne Aasen. He grew up in the San Lorenzo Valley and attended San Lorenzo Valley High School. After high school, he pursued a career as a principal technician at the University of California Santa Cruz.
Roy enjoyed participating in activities that involved the outdoors such as fishing, camping, bike riding, stargazing, and visits to the beach. His good heart and humor will be fondly remembered by all those who knew him.
Roy is survived by his three children, Justin Aasen, Brittany (Danny) Del Bosque, and Maddison Boos; mother, Suzanne Aasen; brother, Eric (Karlyn) Aasen; grandchildren, Axel Boos and Luna Del Bosque; one niece, one nephew, three aunts, and one uncle. Roy is preceded in death by his spouse, Jean Carroll Davis, and his father, Bjorn Aasen.
The Aasen family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the Hospice of Santa Cruz County. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Roy’s name to Hospice of Santa Cruz County.
