Richard Donald Terry
September 29th, 1943 - July 3rd, 2024
Richard Donald Terry passed away peacefully at Lexington Medical Center on July 3, 2024, after fighting a brave battle with various cancers for over two years. He is now at peace.
Richard, “Donald” to some, was born in Ridgeland, SC on September 29, 1943, to Ed and Marion Terry.
Richard was employed by WJ Dorn Veterans Hospital in Columbia for over 14 years and was a decorated Vietnam veteran who earned and was awarded two Bronze Stars. Richard played high school football at Estill High School and was referred to as “The Terror”. Richard was currently retired. Richard was an avid hunter he also took great pleasure camping with the Coffee Cup Campers. His two passions in life were the Carolina Gamecocks and the Carolina Low Country. Richard attended North Greenville Junior College and the University of South Carolina. Richard has always had gratitude to Bill W’s AA program.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Carol Terry and nieces, Theresa and Lauren Terry.
Richard married into the “Crawford Clan” and rapidly became one of our brothers; we will all miss him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
