James "Bob" Clay, 93, of Rockledge, entered into rest on July 5, 2024.

 

Born in Star Junction, PA (Farm Town) on February 1, 1931, he moved to Monessen, PA at the age of 12. He graduated high school and married his high school sweetheart, Jane Yannito. He then entered the US Army and was a Korean War veteran. Bob and Jane moved to Rockledge, FL in August 1955.

 

Bob was a former employee of Missile Recovery Operations, RCA and Lockheed Martin with the space program at KSC in the electrical and audio communication field.

 

Bob received two NASA Snoopy Awards during his tenure at KSC. During his employment, Bob attended Brevard Community College and the University of Central Florida, majoring in audio and electrical engineering.

 

Bob is survived by his three sons, Jeffery (Mary) Clay, Kevin (Dawn) Clay, and Scott (Kelly) Clay; grandchildren, Matthew, Eric, Victoria, Nicholas, Colleen, Kendall; and five great grandchildren.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Space Coast Honor Flight. 

 

Funeral Mass will be held 11:00AM, Thursday, July 18, 2024, at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church - Viera, FL. Interment will be held privately in Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
