Bradd Lee Patterson was born on September 19, 1948 in Sacramento, California to John and Marie Patterson. Bradd passed away on June 19, 2024 in Junction City, Oregon after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle accident.

Bradd married his high school sweetheart, Diane Hargis on April 13, 1968 in Willits, California. They had one son , Toby Bradley, born on February 7, 1972. Toby passed away on October 11, 1993 in Willits due to a car accident. Diane passed away on May 16, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Bradd was a Vietnam vet who proudly served in the US Navy from November 1967 to April 1969, where he served aboard the USS Coral Sea. He held the rank of Petty Officer Third Class at the time of his honorable discharge. During his service he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with three bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, and the National Defense Service Medal.

Bradd was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt and NASCAR, as well as the Oregon Ducks. At the age of 70 Bradd renewed his love of motorcycles and eventually purchased a Harley Davidson trike. If the sun was shining, Bradd was riding. He rode to so many places - Fort Bragg, California; Glacier National Park, Montana; Couer d’Alene, Idaho; the 2023 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, South Dakota; and most of the back-roads from Sisters, Oregon over to the Oregon coast.

Bradd was a generous man, often helping whoever and whenever, or giving gifts of appreciation to those he cared about. While his immediate family may have been small, his extended chosen family was so vast that we lost count a long time ago. If a man’s worth is measured by those who love him, Bradd was priceless.

Bradd was preceded in death by his wife Diane, son Toby, and his parents, John and Marie Patterson. He is survived by his brother John, brother-in-law Cliff Hargis (wife Linda), nieces and nephew, and his dog, Harley.

Bradd’s wish was to be cremated and buried next to his wife and son in Willits, California. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 27 at 2:00 pm, beginning with services at the Riviera Baptist Church, 3071 River Road, Eugene, Oregon. This will be followed by a reception at the American Legion Post 83, 3650 River Road, Eugene. A graveside service will be held in Willits, CA on August 9 at 11:00 am in the Little Lake Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bradd’s name to the American Legion Post 83.
