Larry Flynn
January 16th, 1948 - June 28th, 2024
Peacefully and surrounded by his family, Larry Flynn passed away on June 28th, 2024 in Tucson, Arizona after a short battle with cancer.
Larry will be remembered by his wife of almost 50 years, Julie and children, Michelle Ijams (Matthew), Stefanie Rollo (John), James Flynn (Nicole) and Leslie Ming (Dusty) and grandchildren, Isabelle, Dakota, Hunter, Sawyer, Austin, Aria, Arabella, Autumn, Lucy and brothers, Don Flynn (Cathy) and Richard Flynn (Patty).
Larry was born in Richmond, California and grew up in Roseburg, Oregon. He graduated from Roseburg High School and attended trade school at Coyne Electric in Chicago, Illinois graduating in 1966. He moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1970 to work for Vincent Carter Electric and in 1979 co-founded Industrial Motor and Control (IMC). Larry was actively involved in Safari Club International as well as the Southwest Chapter of EASA. He retired 36 years later after running a very successful business. Larry continued to work long after retirement in the industry he loved, mentoring many and experiencing successes in all his endeavors.
Larry was happiest in nature exploring different parts of the world with Julie whether it was hunting the plains of Africa, fishing in Canada and Costa Rica (although Julie always caught the biggest fish), or four wheeling in Alpine with his faithful companion, Prince. Larry had a gift for making friends wherever he went and left a positive impact on everyone he met. When in Tucson, you would find Larry reading a book in the sun, playing golf, bowling, attending University of Arizona sporting events or cheering on his grandchildren in their various activities.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 3rd from 1-4pm at Arizona Inn, 2200 East Elm Street, Tucson, Arizona 85719. Please let us know if you will be joining us by emailing celebratelarrylove@gmail.com.
