Vincent A. McGrath

Vincent A. McGrath, born on September 26, 1941, in Newark, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2024, in Melbourne, Florida. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Vince is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Marcene. He leaves behind five adoring children: James (Jennifer), Paul (Michael), Chris (Kim), Patrick (Nikki), and Tara (Vincent). He is also survived by his favorite sister, Elizabeth. His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Madison (Ethan), Thomas, Emily, and Alex. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Veronica, and his brothers, Thomas and Francis.
A U.S. Army Captain and proud Vietnam War Veteran, Vince's service to his country is a testament to his courage and dedication. His career was marked by exemplary achievements, reflecting his unwavering commitment to duty and honor.
Vince's life was defined by his kindness, consideration, and sense of humor. He found immense joy in spending time with his family, creating beautiful stained glass art, and pursuing his passion for model trains. He was also known for organizing family adventures, bringing joy and unforgettable memories to his loved ones. Vince's warm spirit, generous heart, and distinctive sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Vince’s life on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. A viewing and Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Community, 5655 Stadium Pkwy, Melbourne, FL 32940. The viewing will take place from 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial services will take place at 1 p.m. at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US Highway 1, Mims, FL 32754.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Brevard Alzheimer's Foundation, Home of Joe's Club brevardalz.org, or the National Veterans Homeless Support nvhs.org, to honor Vincent's memory and support causes close to his heart.
