Joseph "Joe" Solms, Jr.
January 24th, 1932 - July 3rd, 2024
Joseph "Joe" passed away peacefully at home surrounded by a loving family. Joe was born in Marion, Indiana in 1932 to Joseph and Mamie Solms. Joe met his wife, Peggy during their senior year at St. Paul Catholic High School; Marion, Indiana in 1949. Upon graduation, Joe went into the U.S. Air Force and Peggy went into nurses training. They married in 1953 soon after her graduation. In the Air Force, Joe served as an air traffic controller and as a communications electronics technician. After Joe's retirement from the Air Force in 1974, they travelled westward and settled in Colorado Springs in July of that year. Aside from a few short years in Rolla, Missouri; Joe and Peggy lived in Northeast Colorado Springs for the rest of their lives.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy, parents Joseph and Mamie Solms, one sister and two brothers. He is survived by his son David (wife Beth), his daughter Christina Dalton (husband James), six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and his sister Eleanor.
