With profound sorrow and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Jonathan "Juju" Day, a beloved son, brother, partner, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed from this world on July 9, 2024, in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Jonathan, born on November 7, 1978, in Brooklyn, NY, illuminated the lives of everyone he encountered. A proud graduate of James Madison High School in Brooklyn, Jonathan's high school years were marked by his dedication and skill as a Varsity football player, reflecting his lifelong passion for the sport. A devoted fan of the Jets, he could often be found cheering them on, a loyal testament to his enduring spirit. Jonathan's life was a testament to the beauty of genuine human connection. His infectious laughter, smart wit, and unwavering honesty left an indelible mark on all who knew him. A man of generosity, he wore his heart on his sleeve and tirelessly stood up for his family and friends. His kindness knew no bounds, making him a beacon of warmth and integrity to those fortunate enough to know him. He relished in the joys of everyday life, finding profound delight in singing, rapping, dancing, and engaging with music. Jonathan had a distinctly humorous soul, often found watching comedic movies and shows, and reminiscing over 80s and 90s cartoons. His love for making everyone around him smile and laugh will forever be remembered. The core of Jonathan's being was his family. He is survived by his loving mother, Luz Collado; his father, Robert Day; his cherished sister, Mabel Espinosa; his dear sister, Jennifer Chambliss; his affectionate stepmother, Virginia Day; his devoted partner, Fritzy Ramirez; his precious daughter, Monica Day; his beloved sons, Giovanni Day and Gianni Day; his grandchildren, Priide Thomas and Legend Thomas; and a host of nieces and nephews including Nicholas, Nehemiah, Kiana, Gabriela, Eric, and Olivia. Jonathan’s generous soul, humor, and loyalty created ripples of love and compassion that will forever endure. Though he has left this earthly realm, his spirit remains in the hearts of those he touched so profoundly. A celebration of Jonathan’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 16th, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at the Anderson McQueen Funeral Homes located at 7820 38th Ave N, Saint Petersburg, FL 33710. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring the legacy of a man who brought so much joy and love into the world.
Jonathan "Juju” Day will be deeply missed yet eternally remembered for his boundless kindness, infectious humor, and unwavering love for his family.
