Valinda Chrisine (Goold) Scarborough
April 21st, 1974 - June 28th, 2024
Valinda Christine (Goold) Scarborough passed away unexpectedly on June 28, 2024 at her home. She was born on April 21, 1974 in Provo, Utah.
She was the oldest child of seven children born to the parents of Martin and Randie Goold. Valinda grew up in Puyallup, WA attending Puyallup schools.
She played the Frenchhorn starting in Ferrucci Jr. High through Rogers High School. During this time she joined the Tacoma Youth Symphony through her high school years.
She met her husband while working part-time for Albertsons grocery store.
Shawn and she got married in Puyallup, WA on December 27, 1994. Most of her married life was in Post Falls, Idaho.
She earned her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development. She went back to school after all her children were in school and taught 18 years. Her last teaching job was with the Federal Way School District. She loved working with young children.
She leaves her 3 children, Austin Scarborough 29, Kaitlyn Scarborough 28 and Sawyer Scarborough 22 and husband Shawn Scarborough.
Living siblings are Eric (Kara) Goold, Mathieu (Kathy) Goold, Tyler (Keisha) Goold, Hillary (Shane) Orton and Bryce Goold.
She is preceded in death by a sister Lindsey Goold and grandparents Warren & Dona Jo Goold and William and Doris Hadden.
Valinda and Shawn moved back to Puyallup after 20 some years living in Post Falls. Her family was happy to have her back on this side of the mountain once again.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 12:00 PM. Family Viewing will be at 11:00 AM at the Ridgecrest building, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 12407 Military Road East

She will be laid to rest in the Sumner Cemetery in Sumner, WA.
