Mr. Jose Ismael Herrera, age 88, of Ontario, Oregon passed away peacefully in his home, on Thursday, July 11, 2024. Jose was born May 1, 1936 in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Jose is survived by his wife San Juana Herrera and his seven children, Linda, Diana Cindy, David, Raul, Robert and Yessenia; twenty-onegrandchildren; Ericka, Daniel, Anna, Gabi, Veronica, Marcos, Xavier, Suzette, Jakquelynn, Angel, Dereck, Drake, Laken, Nicholas, David, Robert, Jessica, Anthony, Samantha, Erick, Reuben; twenty-five great-grandchildren; Charlotte, Madelin, Kailey, Kensley, Lillyanna, Alijah, Leilani, Annabelle, Brooklyn, Angie, Sanjuana, Joshua, Anthony, Raleigh, Akina, Makhi, Amia, Antonio, Angelina, Roman, Aeriana, Benito, Lorenzo, Joseph, Freyja, and one great-great granddaughter; Camila, as well as many nephews and nieces.
Mr. Herrera worked as a carpenter and was very involved in promoting dances and community events.
Ismael was a hardworking man and passed on the value of a great work ethic, traditions, customs and Music of the Tejano culture to his children.
Ismael loved accordion music and he was an avid and accomplished player of accordion music. You could always find Ismael playing at Church functions, posadas, family functions and many times at other people’s funerals.
In 1980 PROMOCIONES HERRERA was one of the first dance promoters in the Treasure Valley area, primarily Ontario, Oregon in the company of His wife SanJuana Herrera and his children.
Ismael had such a great sense of humor and his favorite hobby was playing Poker & Dominoes with his grandchildren and other family members.
Ismael loved Holidays as he loved it when all his family would come together to make new memories.
He was a very happy man and he led a life of many fulfilling adventures.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Lienkaemper Funeral Chapel, 78 NW 1st Ave, Ontario, OR 97914. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The rosary will be at 7:00 p.m.
The funeral mass will be on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 850-700 SW 2nd Ave, Ontario, OR 97914.
El Sr. José Ismael Herrera, de 88 años, de Ontario, Oregón, falleció pacíficamente en su casa, el jueves 11 de julio de 2024. José nació el 1 de mayo de 1936 en Eagle Pass, Texas.
A José le sobreviven su esposa San Juana Herrera y sus siete hijos, Linda, Diana Cindy, David, Raúl, Robert y Yessenia; veintiún nietos; Ericka, Daniel, Anna, Gabriella, Verónica, Marcos, Xavier, Suzette, Jakquelynn, Ángel, Dereck, Drake, Laken, Nicolás, David, Robert, Jessica, Anthony, Samantha, Erick, Reuben; veinticinco bisnietos; Charlotte, Madelin, Kailey, Kensley, Lillyanna, Alijah, Leilani, Annabelle, Brooklyn, Angie, Sanjuana, Joshua, Anthony, Raleigh, Akina, Makhi, Amia, Antonio, Angelina, Roman, Aeriana, Benito, Lorenzo, Joseph, Freyja y una tataranieta; Camila, así como muchos sobrinos y sobrinas.
El Sr. Herrera trabajó como carpintero y estuvo muy involucrado en la promoción de bailes y eventos comunitarios. Ismael fue un hombre trabajador y transmitió a sus hijos el valor de una gran ética de trabajo, tradiciones, costumbres y música de la cultura tejana.
A Ismael le encantaba la música de acordeón y era un ávido y consumado intérprete de música de acordeón. Siempre se podía encontrar a Ismael tocando en funciones de la Iglesia, posadas, funciones familiares y muchas veces en los funerales de otras personas.
En 1980 PROMOCIONES HERRERA fue uno de los primeros promotores de bailes en el área de Treasure Valley, principalmente Ontario, Oregón en compañía de su esposa San Juana Herrera y sus hijos.
Ismael tenía un gran sentido del humor y su pasatiempo favorito era jugar al póquer y al dominó con sus nietos y otros miembros de la familia. A Ismael le encantaban las fiestas como también, le encantaba cuando toda su familia se reunía para crear nuevos recuerdos.
Fue un hombre muy feliz y llevó una vida de muchas aventuras satisfactorias.
Los arreglos han sido confiados a Lienkaemper Funeral Chapel, 78 NW 1st Ave, Ontario, OR 97914. Habrá una visita el martes 16 de julio de 2024 de 6:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. El rosario será a las 7:00 p.m.
La misa fúnebre será el miércoles 17 de julio de 2024 a las 10:00 a.m. en la Iglesia del Santísimo Sacramento, 850-700 SW 2nd Ave, Ontario, OR 97914.
