The Springs Funeral Services - Platte
Thomas Wayne Miller
October 6th, 1957 - July 2nd, 2024
Thomas “Tom” Wayne Miller, 66, passed away peacefully, in his home in Colorado Springs, CO, surrounded by his wife and children, on July 2, 2024, following two long, courageous, and faith-filled battles with cancer.
Tom was born on October 6, 1957 in Denver, CO. Growing up in Security, CO, Tom graduated from Widefield High School in 1976.
Tom was a loving and devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Patricia “Pat” J. (Chavez) Miller. Tom and Pat met in 1975 and married in 1978. They celebrated 46 years of marriage on June 30, 2024 and 49 years as each other’s beloved.
Tom was a loving father to Timothy J. Miller and Hannah M. (Miller) Bradley. He was also a loving grandfather, and absolutely cherished his role as Papa/ grandpa to Jade, Gabriela, Angeliyah, and Lydell Jr., and great-Papa/grandpa to Landon and Serenity, all of who filled his life with joy and happiness.
Tom was well-known for his work ethic and dedication, dedicating 42 years of his life to Weatherford International. Tom was renowned for his expertise in chrome plating, and managed many projects, including projects in Colorado Springs, CO, Longview, TX, Argentina, Brazil, and China, to name a few. Tom was also known for his fair, just, and equitable treatment of others, and became a respected mentor and friend to many of his colleagues.
Tom found joy in many aspects of life, with interests that included enjoying the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, 4-wheeling, and mountain biking. He also enjoyed hobbies such as remote controlled cars, model rocketry, and cooking, as well as the crafts of bread and beer making.
Tom found comfort and spiritual solace in his faith. He routinely read the Sportmen’s Devotional, and also routinely attended New Life Church’s livestream services on YouTube. As a man of God, Tom often spread his faith and hope, sharing the lessons he learned from New Life’s services and Sportsmen’s Devotionals with his friends and family.
Tom is now joyously reunited with his parents, James A. and Patricia (Milam) Miller, and his brothers, Robert E. and James P. Miller, who preceded in death.
Tom leaves behind a legacy of love and hard work, as well as many cherished memories.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at The Springs Funeral Services on July 26, 2024, at 2:00 pm, located at 3115 E. Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80909.
Contributions in Tom’s memory may be made to support esophageal and lung cancer research, honoring Tom’s courageous battle with both, and his loving, fierce, and compassionate spirit.
