Vern, You will be remembered.

Lavern James "Vern" Ochsner passed away on July 1, 2024, in Lacey, Washington. Born on May 3, 1934, in Zeeland, North Dakota, Vern was a devoted husband, father, brother, and a respected veteran and industrial engineer.

Vern is survived by his wife, Janell K. Ochsner; sons, Mark and Kirk Ochsner; sister, Isle M. Ochsner; and brother, Russell Ochsner. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Idella Boschee, Ioan Ochsner, Ramona Levi, and his parents, Christ and Minnie (Pfeifer) Ochsner.

An alumnus of the University of North Dakota and the DOD Foreign Language Center in Monterey, CA, Vern spent his primary career at Boeing Commercial Aircraft division as an industrial engineer. He also spent several years with NASA/ Space Program in Houston, TX.  His commitment extended beyond his professional life into his service with the US Air Force, Tempelhof Air Base, Berlin, Germany.

Vern was a family man at heart, always placing the needs of his loved ones above his own. His passion for baseball and football, along with his caring nature, made him a central figure in his family and community.

Services will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA, honoring his life and service. Vern's legacy as a caring family man, dedicated engineer, and proud veteran will be remembered by all who knew him.
