Danny Ray Jones, 58, passed away on July 15th, 2024, to be with our Lord in Heaven. Son of Ruth Ann Jones and the late Bobby Jones, Danny was born July 25, 1965, in Frankfort, Kentucky. He attended high school at Western Hills and graduated in 1983. After high school, he served in the Army National Guard and later went on to work for the Department of Fish & Wildlife and the Roads Department, serving the state of Kentucky. In August of 1994, Danny suffered an accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. He never wanted any special treatment, or to be looked at any differently, and he certainly never let his disability get in the way of doing the things he loved with the people he cherished. He was an avid outdoorsman, a meticulous woodworker, a passionate RC flyer, and a good friend to many.

In addition to his mother, Ruth Ann Jones, Danny is survived by his son, Brendan Jones; brother, Mike Jones; sister, Rhonda Heim; nephews Zack Drury, Chris (Kaci) Templeton and Matthew Jones; aunt, Betty Daniel; and several close cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org/donate.
