Joan Ann Hunter (nee Felke), age 82 of West Deptford passed away at home

surrounded by her family on July 20, 2024. Born on January 5th, 1942, she was the

daughter of the late Oscar and Sarah (nee Sullivan) Felke.

 

 Joan was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her warm personality would shine through wherever she went. No trip was complete without talking to at least one new person. She adored her grandchildren. 

Her favorite pastime activities included reading, crocheting, solving word puzzles, talking on the phone with dear friends and family, and decorating her house for the holidays. She was also a long time member of Christ Church in Woodbury, NJ, where she served on the Altar Guild. Joan attended Bok Vocational School in Philadelphia and studied Cosmetology. Prior to starting her family, she worked as a secretary at Farm Journal in Center City, Philadelphia.

 

Joan is predeceased by her husband William D Hunter. Cherished mother of Beth

(Robert) Schoch and William (fiance Debra) Hunter. Loving grandmother of William

(Theresa), Christopher (Christina), Brandon and Sarah (Matthew). Great-grandmother

of Charlotte-Olivia, Remi-Lynn, Harley-Jean, Harper-Grace.

Dear sister of Edith Hill , Walter (Veronica) Feilke, Lois Annand, Thomas (Janet) Felke,

Robert (Patricia) Felke and Deborah Bernard. Joan was predeceased by her brother William Feilke, brother-in-law(s) Carson Hill, John Annand, Charles (Bud) Bernard and Edward Farley, sister in law(s) Ethel (Sissy) Feilke, Carol Bunker and Eileen Farley, daughter-in-law Priscilla Hunter and great-grandson Billy Hunter Jr. . Joan left behind her loyal, Lhasa Apso fur baby Libby. She will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to the Gloucester County Animal

Shelter or a charity of your choice.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, July 28, 2024, after 10 AM at the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ. Her Funeral Ceremony will follow at 12 Noon. The interment will be private, allowing the family to reflect and honor her in a personal and intimate way. We invite all who knew Joan to express their condolences and share their memories during this difficult time. Her enduring spirit and the love she shared will remain with us always. May Joan Ann Hunter rest in eternal peace.
