Eunice Paulette Hathcock
November 3rd, 1945 - July 21st, 2024
Paulette Hathcock, 78, of Columbia, SC passed away on July 21, 2024. She was born in Lancaster, SC and was the loving wife of Richard Wheeler. She graduated from Great Falls HS, Great Falls, SC.
Paulette was a State Board Certified Pharmacy Technican for over 45 years starting
Starting with St. Andrews Pharmacy in the early 70’s for George Nickas, Dino Seokus , and Stan PapaJohn, and with Pharmor Pharmacy and subsequently retired from Walmart in West Columbia.
A special thanks to co-workers in Pharmacy Retail, Shamika Shelton, Wendy Rogers, Mike, Scott and Paulette Hoffman for being friends over the years.
She loved her pets and her doggies and was passionate with her love for all animals - the birds she would feed, the Hummingbirds especially made her so happy, the turtles, squirrels, and even owls and woodpeckers that stayed close to her house.
In the past three years, she got involved in pottery at the Columbia Arts Center in Columbia. Thanks to Brenda, who was the director at the time and Bohumila Augustanova who is the director now. She made so many good friends to include Pat, Sarai, Nancy, Brenda, Ms Mary, Tim, Mchale, Tom, and so many others.
She was an avid Gamecock fan, football, baseball and women’s basketball.
Paulette was predeceased by her mother, Eunice Rabon, stepfather, Thomas Rabon, and brother, Tommy Rabon, aunt and uncle, Vinnie and Jack Crouch, uncle, Bud Bigham of Great Falls, aunts; Ethel Bell Sharpe and Addie Mae Higgins of Columbia SC, and
grandparents, Lewis and Lulu McMurray Bigham of Great Falls.
She is survived by her husband Rick Wheeler, son, Michael Todd Hathcock, stepson, Barry Wheeler (Bohumila), sister-in-law, Wanda Rabon Martin (Steve), nephew, Steve Rabon (Angel) Rabon, Bunk Bigham (Jennifer) and Adam Bigham, niece, Victoria Howard, great-niece Alivia Rabon, and great- nephews, Brandon Rabon and Canaan Howard, cousin, Robert Higgins of Great Falls.
There will be a private memorial for Paulette in the near future. Notification of this will be made of date, place and time.
