It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Army Specialist Jonathan Malchiah Anderson, who departed this life on July 9, 2024. Jonathan was born on January 3, 2000, and in his short but impactful life, he touched the hearts of many with his dedication, courage, and unwavering spirit.
Jonathan was a proud graduate of Ridgeview High School, Class of 2019. He answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army in January 2020. Jonathan's passion for information technology led him to advanced IT training at Ft. Gordon, GA, where he honed his skills and excelled in his field.
Serving as an IT-Department G6 Specialist with the 3rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command at Ft. Liberty, NC, Jonathan's expertise and commitment earned him numerous exemplary military honors and certificates. He completed a tour of duty in Kuwait, demonstrating exceptional service and dedication to his nation. Jonathan's next tour was to be in Seoul, Korea; however, God called him to his final tour, ‘heaven-bound’.
Jonathan is preceded in death by his father, N. Jerod Anderson; grandparents, Julius Dixon, Jr. and Joe (Veronica) Anderson; uncle, David Jones, Jr. and aunt, Juanita (Jones) Barr; great-grandparents, David (Orabell) Jones, Sr., Julius (Thelma Lois) Dixon, Sr.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving mother, Te’Ora (Milburn) Jones; his devoted brother, Brandyn Anderson; his cherished grandmother, Rebecca Jones Mercado, grandfather, Eusebio Mercado, Sr., grandmother, Virginia Anderson; his caring aunts, Julie R. Dixon, Sabrina Garrett, and Victoria Anderson; his supportive uncles, E. Jones (Ebony) Mercado, Jr., Kevin (Chastity) Garrett; and a host of great uncles and aunts, great-great uncles and aunts, cousins, and friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
Jonathan's legacy of service, love, and dedication to family and country will live on in the hearts of all who know him. His spirit of perseverance and courage will continue to inspire us all.
