Teresa High Carmichael

January 21, 1943 – July 22, 2024

Teresa High Carmichael, 81, of Prosperity, SC passed away in White Oak Manor of Newberry, SC. She was born in Georgetown, SC on January 21, 1943 and was the daughter of the late John Franklin High and Dorothy Sanders High of Georgetown, SC.

She leaves behind her husband of 56 years, Charles W. Carmichael. He was a teacher at Chapin High School and formerly from Aynor, SC. She leaves behind her son, Lee Stacy Carmichael and his wife, Ginger Ann Carmichael from Houston, TX, granddaughter, Kaitlyn Diane Carmichael from Prosperity, SC and grandson, Alex Carmichael of Newberry, SC. She also leaves behind her brother, Roy Arnold High and wife, Mary Lou High of McClellanville, SC along with nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Marie Humphrey of West Columbia, SC and brothers, John Allen and Donald R. High, both of Georgetown, SC.

Teresa loved her family greatly. Her second passion was being in or around the waters. These gave her great enjoyment. Her first job was with the Georgetown Police Department as a dispatcher. In Columbia, SC, she had several jobs but the one that she was with for a long time was with the SC State Budget & Control Board. She enjoyed this job and retired from it.

Her memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Chapin Christian Community Church, 415 Lexington Ave, Chapin, SC 29036.
