Kenneth James Walker
June 27th, 1945 - July 24th, 2024
Kenneth James Walker, 79 yrs, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, in his home in Chico, Ca. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Dick & Irene Ryder. Ken was born in Greenville, Ca. He grew up in Sacramento, Ca, and spent many fun summers in Greenville with family. He had the best of two worlds, City life and Mountain rural life. After a successful 30-year law enforcement career with the City of Sacramento, he retired and moved back to Greenville, with his Wife, Sharon. They enjoyed renovating and living in an Old Historical home known as the “Murray House”. Sadly, their home, along with most of Greenville, was destroyed in the 2021 “Dixie Fire”.
Greenville, Ca, nestled in Indian Valley, was more than just a place to him—it was woven into the fabric of his soul and an integral part of his family’s heritage. This cherished land, where his ancestors first settled, remained a cornerstone of his identity throughout his life. a part of him in his soul.
He loved the mountains, fresh air, spending time outdoors, fishing, and prospecting on his Family Property. He was a very dedicated and Loving Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother.
He leaves behind his Wife of 33 years, Sharon, his Sons, James (Nely) Walker, Jon (Deanne) Walker, Daughter, Veronica (Darin) Wilt, Sons, Tino Guzman, Dustin (Kayla) Nelson. His Sister, Kay Thornburg, Grandchildren: Seth Walker, Sarah Walker, Lucas Walker, Amanda Walker, Austin Isaacs-Wilt, Marissa Wilt, Mason Wilt, Savannah Guzman, Kennedy Guzman, Riley Nelson and Bennett Nelson.
Memorial Service will be held On August 17, 2024, at noon at First Baptist Church, Orland, Ca.
