Jeffrey Duane Bowen was born in Orange, CA, on February 9, 1959. He was 65 years old when he was called home to the arms of Jesus on July 30, 2024, in Westminster, CO.

As a young man, Jeff grew up in California and Texas. He was very athletic and excelled in football, baseball, and surfing. While in high school, he started working at a local restaurant and worked his way up to night manager. His tremendous work ethic became evident to all. Immediately after graduating from Edison HS in Huntington Beach, Jeff moved to Denver, Colorado, and his love of the Rocky Mountains was fueled. He started in the restaurant industry and eventually found his sweet spot in the construction trades.

He was a single father raising two daughters with the support of family and friends while building a career in construction. His journey in the construction industry was a testament to his determination and success. Over the years, he went up the ranks and held leadership roles with GH Phipps, Haselden, and PCL. Jeff supervised large teams to build many projects throughout the Denver region including schools and hospitals.

When his girls left home, he realized a dream of living in the upper elevations. He had homes in Larkspur and Idaho Springs. He loved riding his Harley in the mountains and on long rides to Canada, throughout the western US, and even several pilgrimages to Sturgis. His cooking of spaghetti and chili were his family favorites.

After retirement, Jeff relocated to Sisters, Oregon, to be close to his mom and sister.

He also got a puppy, a yellow Lab, he named Dakota. It was also in Oregon that he received his original cancer diagnosis. He fought his cancer bravely and without complaint. His prayer request was never for his healing but rather that his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, would keep him close and allow his illness to allow him to be a faithful witness to others.

He is survived by his two daughters, Melissa Bowen of Wilmington, NC, and Rebecca Gonzales (Tim) of Northglenn, CO, and their children Jasmine, Ashlynn, and Joshua; his brother Darin Bowen of Huntington Beach, CA; his sister Melanie Pinick (Gregg) from Bend, OR and their children Travis Pinick (Sara and family); Kelcie Bragg (Kelan and family); and Lt. Siara Pinick. His love for his family was unwavering, and he cherished every moment with them. He is preceded in death by his parents, Duane H. Bowen and Evalyn Jane Bowen.

Instead of flowers, a gift can be designated in Jeff’s name to his church, Westminster Calvary, 10138 Wadsworth Pkwy #1000, Westminster, CO 80021.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord Is the death of His saints.”

Psalm 116:15 NKJV
