Eva Lou Bowen
February 17th, 1933 - August 10th, 2024
Eva Lou Bowen, 91, of Gate City went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born in Scott County, Virginia to the late Early and Mannie Lewis. Eva was a devoted member of Lighthouse Apostolic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Garland and James Lewis; and infant brother, Earnest Lewis.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Jones; son, Jeff Bowen and wife Helen; granddaughters, Carol Massey and husband Mike, and Michelle Bowen; great-grandchildren, Christian Jones, Alexa Jones, Nick Massey, Serenity Williams, Danni Williams, and Charlie Williams; special caregiver, Bernice Miller; along with a host of friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Jonathan Lovelace and Pastor Allen McMillan officiating. Music will be provided by the Christian Family.
A graveside service will follow at Holston View Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Holston Valley Medical Center for their loving care.
