Jean Louise Scheckenbach

Jean Louise Scheckenbach (Poirier) passed away peacefully on August 6th 2024 in Centennial, Colorado after a multi-year journey fighting various ailments. She was 78 years old.

She was born in Vermont in 1946 to Barbara and Harold Poirier. The family relocated to South Bend, Indiana where she went to high school. After high school, she married Albert Scheckenbach after he graduated from Notre Dame in 1966. They were married for 58 years and lived in Illinois, Missouri and, ultimately, Colorado since 1975. She was primarily a homemaker throughout the years but also worked in Administration support roles with various employers.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sisters Judy Thompson (Husband Stan) and Linda Makowski (Husband Jim) who will never forget the love she brought to their lives. She was preceded in death by her loving parents.

Jean was a devoted mother to Greg (wife Bonnie) and Mark, her pride and joy. She was an amazing mother who supported all their endeavors in school, athletics, and the business world. She was a rock for the family and was always willing to provide guidance on any topic. Her influence was always obvious. Later in life, she was a wonderful grandma to Greg’s 3 children (Brynn, AJ and Ty). She took special joy in her family’s accomplishments and had fond memories of all the sporting events and the thriving business built by Mark.
