James Lynn Simmons
James Lynn Simmons, 85, of Bradenton died August 12, 2024, at the Heritage Park Care and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on December 19, 1938, in Manatee County and the son of the late Frank Hall Simmons and Hetty Asula Landress Simmons.
He was well known for his love of fishing, especially for Mullet, and an avid baseball player and fan. He was employed by Winn – Dixie for many years as a butcher.
Survived by his wife Connie; two daughters Vickie Barth and Jennifer Mannen and son-in-law Mike Mannen; brother Jay Simmons; a sister, Mary Payne Crowley; grandchildren Logan Mannen, Thomas Bailey, and Amber Barth; great granddaughter Aria Williams. Predeceased by a son Mike Simmons.
The family would like to hear stories about Jimmy, which may even be used in a book to be written by Vickie.
Services will be private.
