Susan Foley

Susan “Sue” Foley, 68, of Tacoma, WA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at home with family, after a difficult battle with cancer.  She was born on October 16, 1955, in Herkimer, New York, the daughter of Bernard V. White and Marguerite (Edick) White.  She attended Herkimer High School.  She married Keith Foley on July 7, 1973.  She earned a degree in Early Childhood Development and worked at several military child development centers in Germany and Washington State for over 20 years. She worked as a para educator at Brookdale Elementary School in Parkland, WA, until her retirement in 2016.  She loved traveling and visiting new places, although her favorite place was anywhere in Hawaii. She also loved watching the Seattle Seahawks and decorating the entire house for Christmas.

            Surviving family members include her husband of 51 years, Keith Foley, her son, Brian Foley (Kristy Blackburn), her daughter Melissa (Ted) Rooney and the loves of her life, her grandchildren, Anthony Ernest, Elizabeth Foley and Brendan Slenning; her brothers and sisters, Donald White, Ruth White, Beverly (David) Oram, Roy (Mary) White, Steve (Kim) White, Colleen (Jim) Rowe, Dan (Chrissy) White,  Gail (Tom) Tate, Paul (Pam) White, many nieces and nephews and brother in-law Richard Morse, sister-in law Marion White.

            She was predeceased in death by her parents, her sisters, Karen Ford, Joanne Morse, her brothers John White, Bernard White Jr., and her brother in-law Jack Ford.

Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life on October 12, 2024, at Edward B Rhodes American Legion Post 2,  11204 Park Ave S, Tacoma, WA, from 2-6 pm.
