Adair Funeral Home - Dodge
Frank Lyman Ruby, Jr.
September 17th, 1936 - August 17th, 2024
Frank Ruby passed away at his home in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday August 17th, 2024 at the age of 87, and surrounded by his loving family. Son of Thelma Klozar and Frank Ruby, he was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. At the age of 18 he joined the Air Force where he served proudly for 20 years. He traveled and lived in many places during his time in the Air Force to include, St John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, Thailand, Taipei, Taiwan, Blytheville, Arkansas, Chandler, Arizona and happily retired from the Air Force to his beloved Tucson in 1974. He received his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Arizona in 1978 and then worked for Bombardier and then Lockheed for many years.
He truly loved the Sonoran Desert and enjoyed his many motorcycle rides and adventures around the state of Arizona as well as southern California. He loved watching sunsets and monsoons from his porch in the Tucson mountains and writing poetry.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, ex-wife and mother of his children, Ann Ruby, stepfather, Floyd Klozar., sister Darlene Konkus and son Frank Ruby III. He is survived by his wife Carol Ruby, his sister Barb Holman (Nate) of Charlottesville, Virginia, his children Karen Farrell (Patrick), Paula Rosemond (Sonny), and Amy Ruby; his step-children Jake Brown (Cathy), and Susie Stoll (Ron) and his grandchildren Stephen Ruby, Tara Farrell, Kevin Farrell, Kelly Farrell, Kaden Durkin, step-grandchild Crystal Canada-Cooke along with five great grandchildren.
While we lost our most beloved Dadio, who was truly a fighter, many have lost a friend and loved one in him. His witty humor and many stories made him a favorite with his caregivers in his last years.
