Albert L. Wietharn – loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at age 87 on Tuesday, August 20th, 2024. His beloved wife, Tillie, was holding his hand as he took his last breaths and the family is comforted knowing he accepted Jesus as his savior the night before.

Albert, Al, was born in Baileyville, Kansas on April 23rd, 1937 to Edwin and Irmena Wietharn. He was one of 13 children! As an adult, he worked for and retired from Coors Brewing Company. On January 2nd, 1999 he married Tillie Buso in a ceremony surrounded by their families and friends. He had two children, Kimberly (Wietharn) Vamos and Troy Wietharn, daughter-in-law Jennie (Yoakum), two step-daughters Raquel Barber and Ava Overman, followed by 7 grandchildren: Abigayle, Alexander, Rebekah, Nathaniel, Maciah, Britani, and Isaiah.

Al was an outdoor person.  He liked hiking, biking, pickle ball, tennis, and snow skiing. He also rode Ride the Rockies six times in Colorado, the Ragbrai in Iowa three times, the  Finger Lakes ride in New York twice, and the Lake Huron ride in Michigan three times. That's quite an accomplishment! He climbed eight 14ers!!!!! Not only did he enjoy playing tennis, he and Tillie volunteered at the Indian Wells Tennis tournament in California for eleven years. Al enjoyed adventures in traveling. He visited 49 U.S. states, Europe,  Canada, South America, China, and various Asian countries.

Al enjoyed all his grandchildren. He played board games with them but he was also patient teaching new games to them. He usually won too. He didn't cut them slack which taught them to be competitive like him.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you make a donation to Faith Bible Chapel (https://faith.church/) – if you feel so inclined.
