Dr. Patricia Ann Netterfield (Edgington) passed away August 21, 2024 in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born on August 10, 1946 in Grand Junction, CO to Harold and Helen Edgington, and was the 2nd child of 4.  During her childhood, she had a close bond with her younger sister Karen (White) and her maternal grandmother (Grandma Shupe), and often shared memories that were told about her Grandma Shupe, and the love she felt from this bond throughout her life.

Patricia was a very dedicated to her education from her first day of school to achieving 2 Master's (Masters in Business Administration MBA, and Master in Science in Marketing, from University of Colorado) and a post Doctorate (ph.D) Mangement of Team Interaction and Development from Colorado Technical University, in 1999. She graduated with honors with each degree she earned, 3.98 GPA and 4.0 GPA. Patricia graduated from high school in 1964, and worked at the local movie theater in Grand Junction, to save in order to attend college, she earned 5 cents and hour working while in high school, and enrolled in Mesa State University in Grand Junction, and attended her freshman and sophomore years, then transferred to CSU in Ft Collins in 1966,

 In 1967 she met and married her first husband James Netterfield, and welcomed first child in 1968, son Frederick E. Netterfield. Patricia moved to Japan with husband and son in 1970, and lived in Japan for 4 years, husband was a civilian that worked for Department of Defense. Patricia enjoyed living in Japan, and taught English as a second language to the Japanese children in elementary school and was also a model in Japanese fashion magazines and advertisements, she was very admired for her beauty and European features of blonde hair and blue eyes. In 1974 the family of 3 returned to the U.S. and settled in Colorado, and welcomed second child, daughter Sonja-Sigrid I. Netterfield in 1975.

She divorced her husband in 1980, and as a single mother, she took on work as a secretary at various local companies. She worked at H&F Windows in Broomfield for 7 years, she took on a job at Sprint in Downtown Denver and was able to finish her Bachelors in Sociology from Metropolitan State College of Denver. After finishing her dual Master Degrees, she worked at National Renewable Energy Labatories in Golden, there she worked as a Policy and Procedure Specialist for almost 4 years. Patricia worked at Sandoz as the HR Director, Sr. Manager, and Business Partner for 11 years. She also worked as the HR Director and contracted as a consultant for couple of medical manufacturing companies for 2 years. In 2008 she was recruited by Atmel in Colorado Springs as the Sr, Staff and Business Partner and worked in that position until 2013. From 2013 to 2017 she worked for DPIX as the Sr. Director, and retired in 2017.

In 2008, she married her husband Ronald J. Higgs, and the pair settled in Colorado Springs.in 2010 she welcomed her only grandchild, Aaron M. Matulik, with whom she developed a very strong bond with since his birth. 

Patrricia enjoyed collecting antiques and collectibles, going to thrift stores with her son and daughter, spending time with her family, gardening, she spent hours working in her pond she took a lot of pride in at her home in Colorado Springs. Patricia also held a devotion to her faith, Religious Science also known as Science of Mind, she attended Mile High Church of Religious Science in Lakewood, CO from 1982 to 2008, then attended Center of Spiritual Living in Colorado Springs, CO from 2008 to her passing. She served as a Practitioner for both churches, and offered prayer and guidance for those who requested it.

Patricia overcame obstacles that she felt she had the support from her family and church. In 2014 she was diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer, and beat the illness through aggressive chemo and radiation treatment.  In 2017 she unexpectedly lost her son to heart disease, then again lost her husband in 2019 to chronic health issues. 

She is survived in life by daughter Sonja-Sigrid I. Netterfield, grandson Aaron M. Matulik, son in law Shane M. Carnevale, sister Karen White, nieces Tammy, Kama and SybBella, nephew Kevin, grand nieces and nephews, step children and their families. She is met in the after life by her husband Ronald J. Higgs, son Frederick E. Netterfield, parents Helen and Harold Edgington, grandparents Grand dad and Grammy Edgington, Grandma Shupe, younger sister Debbie Conto, brother in law Ken White.

A service to celebrate her life and the love she expressed for all those she crossed paths with will be announced for a later date, held in Colorado. 

In lieu of flowers, family asks donations be made to CU Degenerative Brain Disease Research at any campus, or the Alzheimer's research Foundation.
