Gerald (Jerry) Lynn Hilton

Resident Of Walnut Creek, CA

June 28, 1945 - August 29, 2024

Jerry Hilton passed away in the early morning hours of August 29th, peacefully at home in his sleep.

Jerry was born in Oakland, CA, and was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

After serving a full-time two-year proselyting mission to Edinburgh, Scotland from 1964-1966, Jerry married the love of his life in the LDS Oakland temple on June 21, 1968. Jerry graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1969. Jerry was an entrepreneur, starting numerous businesses until his career culminated when he was hired as the CEO of a computer securities firm. After leading the company for several successful years, Jerry brokered the sale of the company. Jerry then happily stepped into semi-retirement and finished his working career as a mortgage and real estate broker. If asked, Jerry would consider his greatest success and source of joy to be his large, loving family.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 56 years Eva (Dent) Hilton, their six children; Dee and Tom Chamberlain of Covina, CA; Michael and Stephanie Hilton of Rapid City, SD; Chris and Michelle Hilton of Washougal, WA; Jon and Patricia Hilton of Pleasant Hill, CA; David and Dawnielle Hilton of Weaverville, NC; Katie and Josh Hupp of Martinez, CA; and 20 grandchildren.

Jerry was a larger-than-life personality who loved everyone and leaves a giant shadow for all to take shelter under.

Friends and family are invited to a viewing to be held Friday, Sep. 13 at 10am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Overlook chapel, 2369 Overlook Drive, Walnut Creek, CA, with a memorial service to follow at 11am. Jerry will be interred at Oakmont Memorial Park. Arrangements by Oak Park Hills Chapel, 3111 N. Main St., Walnut Creek, CA.  Mark Magleby, Director
