Anna E DiNicola

Anna E. DiNicola (nee Macklin) of Englewood, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the age of 95 at her home - Heritage Oaks Assisted Living.

She was born on August 24, 1929, the second-born of 12 children to Charles and Margaret Macklin.  Ann was graduated from Paulsboro High School in June 1948 where she was a majorette.  She was a determined young lady.

Married to Alfred J. DiNicola, Sr. in October 1948, they worked hard as a team to provide a wonderful life for their family with Christian love as the foundation. They were married 53 years until his passing in 2002.

Ann had the gift of hospitality, frequently hosting gatherings for family and friends with delicious meals. She was the head waitress/manager at the Woodbury Country Club for many years and used her creative talents decorating for weddings and special occasions. If you were lucky, she would show you the proper way to cut a cake! Ann was a gifted seamstress and crocheted many baby blankets and outfits which were treasured gifts.

Ann was a member of St. John Parish in Paulsboro most of her life. When she moved to Port Charlotte, Florida, she quickly became involved with San Antonio Parish. She attended Bible studies, volunteered and completed the Emmaus program. When she moved to Englewood, she attended St. Francis of Assisi until she was no longer able to travel there. The church delivers communion each week to the facility and Ann loved being part of the gathering. 

“My husband and children are the most important thing in my life” was noted in a journal from many years ago. Her legacy of love and always being concerned with the happiness of others brings comfort to those she leaves behind.

Preceded in death by her husband Al, parents and seven siblings, she is survived by children Alfred (Mary) J. DiNicola, Jr.; Connie (Tom) Thrasher; David (Antoinette) DiNicola; grandchildren Kristen (Brent) Premer; Matthew DiNicola; Troy (Lyndsay) DiNicola; Daniel (Nicole) DiNicola and Alexandra DiNicola. She was blessed with six great-grandchildren: Jillian Premer, Addison Premer, MacKenzie DiNicola, Liam DiNicola, Maren DiNicola and Myles DiNicola.

On Wednesday, September 11th, the family invites you to join them at St. Clare of Assisi Parish (St. Michael’s Church), 313 Memorial Ave., Gibbstown from 9:45 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. for visitation followed by a Mass of Christian Burial.
