Angelica Ortiz Jolley, daughter and sister, passed away on August 21, 2017, at the age of 22. She was born at Swedish Hospital in Seattle, WA on April 22, 1995. Angelica battled a life long illness which she endured with a fierce perseverance and gentle grace. She graduated from West Linn High school and was accepted into the nursing program at the University of Portland, though she was unable to attend. Angelica was the oldest of three, leaving behind her younger sister and brother, Isabel and Noah. Angelica always lived through their experiences and wanted them to pursue they’re goals and dreams, even though she couldn’t. Her father, John, was one of her biggest supporters and let her get away with things all for her rewarding smile. He offered her a blanket of security and protection when she needed and made sure she could see the love through her messy glasses. Above all, she looked to her mother, Genoveva, as a role model, caregiver, nurse, and most of all, mother. Everyone who witnessed the love shared between Angelica and Genoveva can agree that it is one love which lives beyond words. Those who witnessed Angelica’s endearing smile have, without a doubt, been blessed by her special spirit. She taught us all what true bravery looked like and how to appreciate all life has to offer. Her memorial service will be held at Wilhelm’s Portland Memorial at 1pm, Friday September 1. Angelica’s favorite color was purple, so in honor of her we encourage people to come wearing her color. Finally, Angelica was honored to receive the opportunity through the Make-A-Wish Foundation to travel to Australia and pet koalas. She always wanted to pay it forward and provide the same opportunity for children to realize their dreams. So, in tribute, we ask people to make donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in place of flowers.Charitable donations may be made to: Make a Wish 4742 North 24th Stree Suite, Suite 400, Pheonix AZ 85016 Web: http://www.wish.org/donate Service Information

Wilhelm's Portland Memorial Funeral Home

At Wilhelm's Portland Memorial, we have a rich history dating back to 1901 when we became the first crematory west of the Mississippi River, known then as The Portland Cremation Association. Our historic chapel, marked by its cornerstone placed on February 5th, 1901, has stood the test of time. Today, our memorial site spans 8 stories, approximately 7 miles of corridors of beautifully preserved architecture, and the largest mausoleum on the west coast, spanning 2.5 city blocks....
