June 17th, 1934 - September 8th, 2024
Billy June Hurd, 90, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 8, 2024 with her family by her side following an extended illness. She was born in Jonesville, Va. to the late William and Lille Mae Rigsby and had resided in this area for most of her adult life. Billy was an avid gardener and took great pride in her garden and flowers. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother who will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hurd; son, Donald Hurd; daughter, Sandra Weaver; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Billy is survived by her daughter; Karen and husband Kim Reese (who she thought of as her own son); son, Charles Hurd, Jr. and wife Pam; son-in-law, Jack Weaver; grandchildren, Brandi Hutson and husband Chris, Matthew Carter and wife Elly, Christi Miller and husband Jason, and Charles Hurd III; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Linda Johnston, Faye Denson, and Kathy Sexton; special niece, Jennie Byer; along with a host of friends and extended family.
Per her wishes no formal services will be conducted at this time.
Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport is serving the Hurd family.
