Anne Van Dyne
February 21st, 1948 - August 18th, 2024
Born February 21, 1948 in Putnam County, Missouri to Carl S Van Dyne and LaVonne Hart Van Dyne. Anne had four older sisters: Elaine, Mary Jo (deceased), Marva, and Janet.
The family moved from the farm to Bloomington, California, in 1950. They moved again in fall 1956 to Hesperia, California. Anne went to schools in Hesperia and Victorville. She graduated from the University of California, Riverside before receiving a M.S. in sociology from UW.
Anne worked as a social worker in Seattle for a few years. She then went back to the UW and received a M.S. in architecture. She worked as an architect in Seattle until retiring 3 years ago.
Anne was a wonderful artist. She was a curious and creative person in all respects. She helped harvest sugar cane in Cuba in her youth. She worked on a dig in Cyprus in 1993. She loved cooking, reading, and music of all kinds. She had recently been learning to make sewing patterns and had completed a beautiful silk vest and jacket which she liked to wear with jeans. She enjoyed landscaping her yard and working in her pea patch garden. She loved nothing better than a new project. She was active and healthy until the last 2 months of her life. Anne peacefully passed away with family by her side on August 18,2024. The family plans a celebration of her life at a later time
